DIRECTOR OF BANDS: Rad Bolt

Mr. Rad Bolt will be joining the staff at George Jenkins High School after serving at Dunedin High School since the fall of 2018. He holds the Bachelor of Music Education from Troy University where he studied saxophone with Raymond Smith and conducting with Dr. Mark Walker. Mr. Bolt also holds the Master of Music Education from Troy University where he studied saxophone with Dr. Dave Camwell and continued conducting study with Dr. Mark Walker. While attending Troy, Bolt was a member of the “Sound of the South” Marching band for 5 years as a performer, and 2 years as a staff member. During his time as a performer, Bolt served as the head drum major for 2 years.  Mr. Bolt also performed with the Symphony Band, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band, and Basketball Pep Band, and Troy Saxophone Quartet. He served as principal saxophonist for 4 years. During his graduate studies, Mr. Bolt served as conductor of the Campus Concert band and guest conductor with the Symphony Band. Ensembles under Mr. Bolt’s direction consistently earn Superior Ratings at Florida Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment for Concert and Marching Bands. Mr. Bolt was a recipient of the 2018 PCMEA Rookie Teacher of the Year Award, leads instruction at the Troy University Summer Leadership Camp, and recently was a conductor for the 2021 PCMEA All-County Bands.

His professional affiliations include NAfME (National Association for Music Education), the Florida Music Educators Association, Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Orchestra Association, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, and Alpha Tau Omega.

In his spare time, Mr. Bolt enjoys practicing 40 hours a day, playing video games, cycling, and playing Dungeons & Dragons. He currently lives in Dunedin with his wife Moriah and their dachshund Leia.

COLOR GUARD INSTRUCTOR: MISS SARAH SCHNEIDER

Sarah Schneider is in her third year at Southeastern University pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She is a current member of the SEU Fireline and is a dedicated guard instructor who loves giving back to her community through the arts. In the spring of 2019, she was a featured performer in the Florida Federation of Color Guard Circuit where her personality and talent were able to influence other guard performers through social media. She is a former member of the USF Herd of Thunder Marching Band where she was able to hone her skills and got to perform in front of thousands at Raymond James Stadium.
